The year 2020 has taught everyone a harsh lesson about supply and demand. The slowdown across many industries have shown to have impact in the supply chain resulting in a lot of products being unavailable. The materials for the products have had limited availability as well, which leads to higher costs. This trend hasn’t spared the golf cart industry. New cart pre orders are filled out into next year with many mid season. The question is now, what to do if you are in the market for a golf cart?

The first thought may come to mind, “I should sell my golf cart since the value has never been higher!” And this logic would be correct if you are no longer in want or need of a golf cart. This could be an opportunity for you to take advantage of the market. Go and find some comparable models and see what people have them listed for, and what they sold at, if possible. You can mark it around their price or significantly under if you are looking to move it fast. This is the best time for you so, have at it and good luck.

Well, what about selling it and buying a new one? This sounds like a greta plan, but with the delay in the production of golf carts and part available, you may be in for a wait. If you don’t need a golf cart and can wait, you may be able to take advantage of early signing bonuses that some manufacturers are offering. Most golf cart dealers are taking trade-ins as well, so see what they can offer you for your cart and weigh that against the private market. Most times a golf cart dealer will give you a fair deal and a hassle-free process. Private dealings are “the luck’s draw”, plus, you have to take the calls and the meetings and the time. You will have to decide if the effort is worth it.

Are there any other options? There is always the option of trading your golf cart in for a refurbished model. The golf carts are stripped down and painted, with new components added as needed, and often have custom paint jobs or exciting colors. This is a way of having a “new golf cart” without the delay of waiting for the manufacturer to fill your order.

That isn’t the last option. You can have your golf cart refurbished and add new accessories. Why not make your own golf art feel new again? This can give you a blank slate to recreate your golf cart in your image.
