How Can We Do Our Part on Earth Day

With Earth day approaching, I wanted to take some time to talk about ways each of us can make a positive impact. Here are a few thoughts and things that hopefully we can all find one of them to do. Or all of them!
There are many ways to help on Earth Day. Here are a few ideas:
- Volunteer for a cleanup. There are many organizations that organize cleanups on Earth Day. You can find a cleanup near you by searching online or contacting your local environmental organization.
- Plant a tree. Trees provide oxygen, clean the air, and help to combat climate change. You can plant a tree in your yard, at a park, or in a community garden.
- Reduce, reuse, and recycle. By reducing the amount of waste we produce, we can help to protect the environment. We can reduce waste by buying less stuff, reusing what we have, and recycling what we can't reuse.
- Compost. Composting is a great way to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfills. Composting turns food scraps and yard waste into nutrient-rich soil that can be used to fertilize plants.
- Get involved in your community. There are many ways to get involved in your community and help to make it a more sustainable place. You can volunteer for an environmental organization, attend city council meetings, or write to your elected officials about environmental issues.
No matter how you choose to help, every little bit counts. By making small changes in our daily lives, we can make a big difference for the environment.
