What is a Refurbished Golf Cart?
Custom golf carts are LEGC’s specials and for good reason. For more than 15 years we have been installing radios, rear seats, custom-painted bodies, and have installed televisions in a few golf carts. Most of these are used golf carts that needed “refurbishing”. Let’s go into detail about the refurbishing process.
Where Do the Golf Carts Come From?
Lake Erie Golf Cars is a proud E-Z-GO distributor and provides golf course in and around Ohio with fleet service. These golf carts are leased to the courses and maintained by LEGC’s trained technicians. When the lease is up, the golf course will lease new golf carts and LEGC now has a fleet of golf carts for sale.
Can I Trade-In My Old Golf Cart?
Absolutely! Reach out to us using our golf cart evaluator to find out your trade-ins potential value. This is another source of used golf carts and it allows LEGC to have a variety of pricing levels. Most of the current and late model golf carts were built to last. Any major issue is taken care of and their powertrain is inspected and repaired as needed. With the proper maintenance, a used golf cart can last a significant time.
This is a process used by LEGC to bring back the maximum potential of the golf cart’s longevity. When golf carts are brought in on trade or lease, they are stripped down to the frame. This allows our technicians to inspect and repair the major components of the golf cart with full access. Electric golf carts have their batteries removed and each golf cart is pressure-washed to remove the dirt and debris that is trapped underneath the body. Occasionally, you find someone’s missing sunglasses or golf balls. After the golf cart is cleaned up, it will be repaired as needed. When it passes the safety inspection, the frame will be painted to to restore its look and help protect it from rust causing agents.
Now for the Fun!
All of those electric add-ons like lights, radios, and underbody kits are now added to the golf cart. If you have chosen a lift kit one will be added at this point. Your custom golf cart is now beginning to take the shape of what you always wanted. Once the wiring is done, and you have chosen the color and style of you golf cart body, the installation begins. The last parts to go on are the seating package you chose and the top with a windshield. The custom golf cart of your dreams is now a reality!
