Sometimes great beginnings come from great endings. Lake Erie Golf Cars (LEGC) recently opened a new retail location in Canfield, Ohio at 4500 Boardman-Canfield Road. This isn’t a new building though. It is one that has been around for a while now. LEGC saw opportunity in this building to turn it into a modern golf car dealer that would fit right in place with your local auto mile. A retail location you can walk in and take your golf car home that day or schedule a delivery. In order for this to happen, the building needed to be available. Who was in it before LEGC?

In 1986 a budding business started in Canfield in that same building. It was Something New and they were a locally owned florist that was proud to serve their community. Save the tears though, unless they happy tears. The business closed upon the owner’s decision to retire. Not every business owner gets to retire from their own company. That is when an opening presented itself. LEGC wanted to expand east and the Youngstown market greeted them with open arms.

The building used to look quite different then it does now, as can be expected. Being a florist shop previously means there was shelving for displays and various rooms. In order to transform it into a golf car dealership, all of the displays and shelves needed to be removed. This opened the area to be used as a showroom to bring in new and used golf cars. When the space opened up, that means wall space needed to be filled. The size of the area was great for large banners to be hung to show the brand and uses for golf cars besides golf. The showroom has come together quite nice after a lot of hard work by the Vice President of LEGC, James Powell.

Take a look at some of the photos below compared to how it has been remodeled. Better yet, stop in and see it for yourself. Visit our site for business hours.
