How to Use Your Accessories

Golf carts have come a long way throughout their history. From three-wheel gas carts to lithium-powered EZGOs, golf carts have tried to embrace the current-gen technology. These advancements have brought us lift kits, radios, LED underflow, and even TVs. Yes, TVs in golf carts. Just Google it if you don't believe me. LEGC has done a few ourselves. With these advancements also comes a learning curve. Luckily, most of the accessories are pretty straightforward. Here are a few tips for typical golf cart upgrades.

Music Makes the Mood

How great is it to have your favorite songs playing while driving between tee boxes? Maybe you are at a campground in your lifted S4 blaring tunes as you head up to the pool for some well-deserved R&R. Upgrading your golf cart to add in audio changes your ride and your experience. But, before you can jam out in the sun, you have to get the thing working. If you have recently added an audio unit, you will be happy to know that connecting it is similar to connecting a Bluetooth portable speaker. When you turn your car on, the audio unit will be ready to pair with your phone. It should be as easy as going into your phone's Bluetooth menu and selecting your unit. There will be a chime to let you know it's connected, and that's it. So, log on to your choice streaming service and rock out. Now drop that birdie while Bob Seger's voice echoes about those nights in the Hollywood Hills.

Winds of Change

So your face is tired of windburn and being a bug deflector? We get it. So you are thinking about getting a windshield for your cart. Before you send your request to the accessories department, you wonder if this is something you need them to install or something you can do yourself? Don't worry about this one; adding a windshield to your golf cart couldn't be easier. For most windshields, OEM, and aftermarket, you will need a 7/16 wrench and a Philips head screwdriver. This combination may change per unit, but it isn't anything you probably don't have in your garage. The windshield will have some plastic mounts that clip onto the frame of the top after they slide into place on the windshield. Ensure you line up the hole on the top frame with the correct position for the windshield, and you are ready to install your nut and bolt. There will most likely be a rubber grommet over a metal bushing that the bolt goes through. Lock it all in place, and that's it. No more flies to the eyes while speeding to the back nine.
